Reagan-Douglass Day Dinner - A Huge Success!

Downtown Shelby came alive on Thursday evening, April 22 with the Annual GOP Reagan Douglass Day Dinner Fundraiser. This year, nearly one hundred people were in attendance to participate in the dinner that celebrates the conservative legacy of Ronald Reagan and Frederick Douglass. The attendees came to hear the keynote speaker, North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson. During his twenty-minute presentation, he outlined how conservative values were being challenged throughout our nation and the steps each of us needs to take to protect each. His was a message of inclusion to stand together to protect and advance our constitutional freedoms.

In addition to hearing Lieutenant Governor Robinson, event sponsor Senator Ted Alexander also brought an update from the General Assembly. Senator Alexander outlined several bills he was working to have approved to protect family values. The final function of the evening was to present the 2020 Republican of the Year. For his dedication and selfless service of hundreds of hours worked during the last election cycle the award went to Kevin Whisnant.

As you can see from the photos the event was a tremendous success! The entire Executive Committee and Event Committee want to thank everyone who attended and helped to make this event a success.
