President Trump personally picked Michael Whatley to hold onto one of North Carolina’s Senate seats for the GOP. Now Republicans are quietly writing it off as a definite loss.

AFP Action is hosting a Senate Election Launch event on Saturday, February 21, 2026, featuring Senate candidate Michael Whatley. The event will provide an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the upcoming 2026 U.S. Senate race and hear about Whatley’s public policy priorities. Participants are also invited to join the planned community walk and engage with grassroots volunteers who will be supporting outreach efforts throughout the day.

To expand on what Lisa said (and I don’t know her). This is one of the most critical elections for both the state and the Presidency in most of our lifetimes. Where’s the party support? There needs to be some visibility as opposed to sitting around with our heads in the sand. No registration drives, no availability of signs, no knocking on doors. We need some action now, not after the fact. There’s no visibility as to whether any of the folks who posted a month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months ago were ever engaged. Is this the wrong site?

The democratic office at the former Jay Birds are having get togethers and food trucks on Thurs that I’ve been about town. When you walk by they have people sitting out front asking if you’re registered to vote. What can I/we as a community do to help engage and support our republican party? We need to pull together more now than ever before.
